[casual_games] TOW: Work/Life Balance

I am totally a workaholic. I divide every day into 2 shifts. During the
day I take care of administrative stuff and during the evenings I code.
This typically includes weekends. So, I was just thinking the other day
that my life isn't very balanced! Duh! I work from home and it does make
it hard to draw any boundaries. I mean, if I want to watch TV, I can still
code. The laptop doesn't help either cause wherever I go I can code! I
don't demand this same amount of time from my team members. I try to set
reasonable goals for them and they set their own hours. So, I've been
trying to make the weekends at least a little more sacred. And I've decided
the next time my kids and/or grandkids visit the laptop gets put away at
least while they are awake! We'll see how that works. R

Subject: [casual_games] TOW: Work/Life Balance

Hi All,

It's time for another topic of the week. This time on Work/Life Balance.

Work/Life Balance. It's not totally a myth. But with summer fast
approaching (E3, kids out of school, etc.) it can start to seem like an
impossibility. What advice can you give for achieving work/life balance? Are
there things you incorporate into your life that make working and living
easier? If you work in an office are there things you do to make sure you
can still enjoy life and get things done that require "normal business
hours"? If you work from home, or are running the business, how do you keep
yourself from working all the time? Are there things you do to ensure your
employees or team members have some semblance of a life?

As always thanks for responding and if you have topic submissions please
send them to me at sheri at designdirectdeliver.com.

Stay awesome!
Sheri
