Game Pre-Production/Production Instructor
Overview: As a faculty member of the Game Production degree program, this teaching position is responsible for developing course curriculum for and teaching Game Pre-Production and Production. During Pre-Production, students learn the fundamentals of creating technical and design documents, milestone schedules, test plans, and workflow; they will ultimately be creating actual documentation and plans for their thesis game projects. During the Production sequence of courses, students bring together a culmination of skills learned during their studies to produce their final projects (2D or 3D game) while working effectively as a team and adhering to established milestones.

Responsibilities:

* Teaching Game Pre-Production and Production course on a bi-monthly (or monthly) basis
* Course management including the development of materials, assessments, student counseling, data management, scheduling, and other academic activities
* Participation in campus activities, including a monthly open house, special interest groups, and other projects as assigned by the Program Director

Experience Required:

* Some teaching and/or public speaking experience
* Five years related professional work experience
* Bachelor's degree in a related field

Skills Required:

* Familiarity with development methodologies, including agile
* Ability to create, track, and maintain schedules, milestones, and budgets
* Insight to identify bottlenecks and risks during the scheduling phase of a project
* Expertise in Microsoft Project or similar software
* Excellent presentation and communication abilities
* A high degree of enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and a willingness to mentor students
* Competency with PowerPoint, MS Office, Windows
* This is an hourly position, workload may vary depending of course load

Game Level Design Instructor
Overview: As a faculty member of the Game Production degree program, this teaching position is responsible for developing course curriculum for and teaching Level Design. In this course, students use level editors and other tools to design game environments, placing physical obstacles and rewards along with non-physical elements such as event triggers. Students learn to create levels that offer variety within a cohesive experience, keeping in mind pacing, escalating tension, and climaxes. The objective of the course is to provide students with an introduction to designing compelling game levels.

Responsibilities:

* Developing and teaching the Level Design course on a bi-monthly (or monthly) basis
* Course management including the development of materials, assessments, student counseling, data management, scheduling, and other academic activities
* Participation in campus activities, including a monthly open house, special interest groups, and other projects as assigned by the Program Director

Experience Required:
* Some teaching and/or public speaking experience
* Five years related professional work experience
* Credited on at least 3 video game titles in a production role (preferred)
* Bachelor's degree

Skills Required:

* Experience with a variety of level editors and game engine tech, UnrealED preferred
* Experience with a scripting language (e.g. UnrealScript, Python, Lua)
* Experience with Photoshop, Maya
* Excellent presentation and communication abilities
* A high degree of enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and a willingness to mentor students
* Competency with PowerPoint, MS Office, Windows
* This is an hourly position, workload may vary depending of course load

Game Design Instructor
Overview: As a faculty member of the Game Production degree program, this teaching position is responsible for developing course curriculum for and teaching Game Design. Game Design courses introduce students to the concepts and methods of video game design from a practical point of view where students learn to implement game systems and mechanics on digital platforms. From concept to prototype to finished product, students use game engines, software tools, art assets and programming to turn ideas into playable 2D and 3D games.

Responsibilities:

* Developing curriculum and teaching Game Design on a bi-monthly (or monthly) basis
* Course management including creation of materials, assessments, student counseling, data management, scheduling, and other academic activities
* Participation in campus activities, including a monthly open house, special interest groups, and other projects assigned by the Program Director.

Experience Required:

* Professional experience as a Game Designer
* Experience using Adobe Flash and other 2D and 3D platforms
* Credit on at least two video games in a design role (preferred)
* Some teaching and/or public speaking experience
* Five years related professional work experience
* Bachelors Degree in a related field

Skills Required:

* Adobe Flash and ActionScript
* Experience with an engine level editor (UnrealED, Hammer, Radiant, Unity, etc)
* Excellent presentation and communication abilities
* A high degree of enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and a willingness to mentor students
* Competency with Adobe CS4, Maya, MS PowerPoint, MS Office, MS Project
* Expert Windows OS user (Mac OS also helpful)
* This is an hourly position, workload may vary depending of course load
