I like Meaningful Play at Michigan State University.  I also like Games, Learning and Society at University of Wisconsin. They are both in the Midwest.

Since you're at DePaul Jose Zagal should be a good resource for you. I last ran into him at ACE. Here's a few at which I've presented (first hand experience) at and had foci in the areas you mention:

Theres plenty more too. You might see this at ACM Chi, for example.

Hello,

I am a PhD Student at DePaul University and I am currently working with my adviser and another PhD student on Serious Games research. Our main focus is the effects of game attributes (Challenge, Control, Goals, etc) on Motivation and Learning. We are trying to compile a list of the relevant and recommended Conferences in this area, any suggestions?
