These "rant" sessions have a certain rhetoric to them. They are meant to be like barn burnings or revivals, loud, angry, impassioned pleas. They are meant to be immoderate.
In some sense, the thread here confirms that the rant did its job—to get people to consider and discuss the role of programming and computational literacies in game design education. But don't get too hung up on the specifics of Brenda's position in this rant... she's overstating at every turn, and she's doing it deliberately, and that's what the "rant" genre demands.
