QUALIFICATIONS
A. Tenure Track Position
* M.F.A. or Ph.D. in an area of expertise complimentary to Game Design, or equivalent terminal degree with an emphasis in digital media and design
* Experience using digital game design tools (i.e.: Gamemaker, Flash, Unity, UDK, etc.)
* Ability to teach in both Macintosh and PC/Windows environments

B. Academic Staff Position
* Master's degree (MA or MS) in an area of expertise complimentary to Game Design, digital media or design
* Experience using digital game design tools (i.e.: Gamemaker, Flash, Unity, UDK, etc.)
* Ability to teach in both Macintosh and PC/Windows environments

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Seeking a Game Designer with a focus in digital video game design. Secondary focus in traditional (tabletop) game design and other digital design foundation areas is welcomed.

RESPONSIBILITIES Teach three studio courses each semester that may include beginning, intermediate and advanced Game Design classes (Intro to Game Design, 2D Game Design, 3D Game Design) and other design classes that support the Game Design major. Contribute to a rigorous learning environment with willingness to use traditional, alternative and digital delivery methods including participation in a laptop teaching and learning environment. Participate in the Game Design Program's collaborative teaching mission. Demonstrate organizational skills, collegiality and leadership skills. Commitment to undergraduate teaching is necessary. Provide academic advisement for students; curriculum development and service to the department, college and university. Engage in professional research. (Tenure Track only) Pursue external funding. (Tenure Track only) Perform other duties as designated by Chair.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL OF ART & DESIGN: The School of Art and Design has 60+ faculty/staff and 900+ majors. There are five distinct BFA programs (Studio Art, Entertainment Design, Graphic & Interactive Design, Interior Design, and Industrial Design) and a new MFA program in Design. The school partners with the Game Design and Development Program to support a Game Design Major with a strong focus in traditional and digital art/design.

ABOUT THE GAME DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM: The Game Design & Development Program is a rapidly growing major, with 200+ majors that includes students with concentrations in either Art or Computer Science. Students take a mixture of game design and concentration-specific courses. Four specific game design courses are collaborative experiences, with faculty and students representing both Art and Computer Science areas participating in the course.
