The Global Game Jam, Inc. is ready to accept host applications for GGJ 2013 Jam Sites. The Global Game Jam (GGJ) will take place January 25-27, 2013, worldwide. Jam site organizers are invited to apply at www.globalgamejam.org. We really hope that you will consider participating, please sign-up as soon as possible.

Global Game Jam is the premier annual game creation event that fosters the development of innovative game concepts and promotes international collaboration and teamwork. GGJ brings together thousands of game development enthusiasts participating through many local jams around the world on a single weekend. GGJ has proven itself to be an incubator for creative experiments and new start-ups. Some of the successes have included games being published and exciting collaboration opportunities for participants.

With the upcoming Global Game Jam 2013, GGJ celebrates its fifth year. The event has grown from 53 locations in 2009 to 242 locations in 47 countries in 2012 when first-time jammers from Hungary, Iran, Panama, Peru, Romania and Uruguay participated. With the 2013 edition, the GGJ aims to involve and unite even more organizers from around the world with a focus on developing countries in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Many of these accomplishments were made with the help of the EdSIG and their continuous support of GGJ.

The GGJ organization invites educational institutions, game studios, cultural organizations, hacker clubs and other interested parties to sign up as host location and to be part of the creative game development force that is Global Game Jam 2013. Please share this opportunity with your friends and colleagues around the world.

The GGJ will provide organizers infrastructure and tools to set up their local event, hands-on guidance before and during the Global Game Jam and a web presence on GlobalGameJam.org. Early locations will be announced starting in October, and registration for individual jammers will begin mid-November. The GGJ encourages organizers to apply for a location as soon as possible. Applications will be accepted until at least December 1st, 2012.
