The Game Design Program in the College of Arts, Media and Design invites
applications and nominations for a cluster of tenure-on-entry associate
professor or tenure-track assistant professor positions in game design,
art, and narrative. We seek candidates with a national or international
record of excellence in the creative practice, innovative research,
substantive scholarship and teaching in one or more of, and not limited to,
the following interdisciplinary areas: game arts, interactive media,
animation, character development, digital narrative, social games, and game
design. Candidates should have a strong interest in collaborative work in
these dynamic and burgeoning fields of practice, and could be considered
for joint positions with other academic disciplines within the College and
the University.

Context:
The Game Design Program is an interdisciplinary program that offers degrees
jointly between the College of Arts, Media and Design and the College of
Computer and Information Sciences focused on the technical side of game
development as well as degrees within the College of Arts, Media and Design
focusing on game art and design. In addition, the faculty within the
program also engage in interdisciplinary research that span collaborations
within different fields, including design, computer science, health
sciences, behavior science, and Human Computer Interaction. Such research
projects includes game analytics, game usability, and games for health.

Architecture, Art + Design, Game Design, Communication Studies, Journalism,
Media and Screen Studies, Music, and Theatre. It is located within a major

Successful candidates must have an MFA, PhD, or equivalent terminal degree
in game design, digital art or a related field. Candidates are expected to
teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and must have a
well-developed research agenda that will inform and advance current trends
in the field through creative production, experimentation, collaboration
and publication.
