Hello, game educators.

I'd hope that you can encourage your students to enter into the 2015 Dare to be Digital student game competition, run by Abertay University.

Teams of up to eight students (or very recent grads - must have been in school in 2014 or 2015) compete for awards, including a coveted BAFTA Ones to Watch award. Finalists will be able to travel to Scotland in August to showcase their games at the Dare Protoplay Festival, one of Europe's largest independent games festivals: and teams will receive accommodations from Abertay University.

During the competition, teams will have access to online mentorship from established studios and developers, including Sega Europe and Ubisoft Reflections. More mentors are going to be announced soon.

Each team will need a statement of support from a member of faculty from their home institution. Applications are due on May 4, and the contest application site is here: http://www.daretobedigital.com/73_Apply.html.

This is an opportunity for students to make global connections: I hope to see teams from all over the world visiting us here in Scotland.

For details, see the Dare to be Digital site or email me at w.huber at abertay.ac.uk<mailto:w.huber at abertay.ac.uk>.
