Full-time tenure-track position in Visual Arts and Technology

The College of Arts and Letters at Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure track position in Visual Arts & Technology, rank open, to begin fall 2015. We are especially interested in candidates with a proven specialization in Game Design and Animation, whose teaching and research advance these into new and innovative territories, and who are committed to both creative making and a critical dialogue about games and play. Preference will be given to candidates who possess a keen interest in Data Visualization and ability to teach in the field. Teaching experience at both the undergraduate and graduate levels is highly desired. Candidates should display an eagerness to mentor students and assist with their professional goals. An accomplished and active research portfolio is a must, as is engagement with the professional art communities. The ideal candidate will be a consummately creative individual who is able to work collaboratively with both artists and non-artists, and is comfortable in an atmosphere devoted to teaching, scholarship, and research at the intersection of science, technology, the arts and humanities.

Responsibilities and expectations include: teaching requisite courses per semester across all levels of the undergraduate curriculum; advising students with senior capstone projects; assisting with the development of a new interdisciplinary Master's program; maintaining an active and creative research agenda, including exhibitions; along with departmental and institute service.
