Dear Colleagues,
We will be hosting a conference on games and learning
<http://www.igbl-conference.com/> in Cork (Ireland) on 22nd and 23rd June
2017.
Some of ye may be interested in participating in iGBL2017 and present your
work on (or experience) of using games for learning and change.
We welcome a wide range of abstracts on the theme of games for learning,
for motivation and for change, including : workshops, game demos,
research-based presentations, students' presentations (e.g., research
students), and presentations that describe the experience of using games to
support learning and change.
We had a great number of participants

countries (e.g., Austria, Ireland, England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain,
Malaysia, and Scotland <http://www.igbl-conference.com/2016-authors/>) and
we hope that you will have the opportunity to meet us next year to share
your thoughts and experience on the use of games for learning and change.
So you may consider submitting your abstract

Learning *
The *I*rish Conference on *G*ame *B*ased *L*earning (iGBL), formerly the
Irish Symposium on Game-Based Learning, now in its seventh year, will be
hosted in Cork on 22nd and 23rd June 2017.
This conference provides a forum for all stakeholders interested in
exchanging ideas, projects, and best practices on the use of games and
game-based approaches to support motivation, learning, and change.
- Researchers will be able to present and share their latest findings.
- Students will have an opportunity to present their research or
showcase their games, and meet specialists in this field to obtain
constructive feedback.
- Instructors will have the opportunity to discover new game-based
teaching approaches and share new game-based skills that they can integrate
in their teaching.
- Companies will be able to showcase their products and explain how
these can be used in the context of learning and motivation.
Prospective presenters can now submit their abstract

We welcome abstracts from a wide range of stakeholders, including
researchers, instructors, or students, who will have the opportunity to
conduct workshops, present research results, or provide insights on how
they managed to design or use games for educational or motivational
purposes.
*Important Dates*
- 22nd of February 2017: Abstract submission deadline.
- 22nd of March 2017: Notification of abstract acceptance.
- 22nd March 2017: Successful research abstracts are invited to submit
an extended abstract (i.e., paper to be published in the conference
proceedings).
- 12th of April 2017: Registration deadline for authors.
- 12th April 2017: Submission of extended abstracts (i.e., research
papers).
- 22nd April 2017: Notification of acceptance for extended papers.
Please note that authors who submitted their abstract(s) by 22nd January 2017
will be notified on whether their abstract has been accepted by 22nd
February 2017. Authors who submitted their abstract(s) by 22nd February 2017
will be notified on whether their abstract has been accepted by 22nd March
2017.
