Well, more like a gamer who is quadriplegic cannot use an unadapted controller -- instead these are the variety of controllers that exist and this is how they are used. However you are not limited to using only these controllers -- if your game requires a new type of controller (like games like guitar hero), then you can build your game around that. :)
