[games_access] Serious gaming & Accessibilty

Hi BlazeEagle,

to be honest I do not really understand what you want to say.

Some Notes from me:
Every game can be a serious game. It depends on the situation!

And something people often do not know:
Serious Games are not only about teaching something.

The best example:
pain treatment: You can use any game that distract
the person from his pain.

For the gamecom congress Game Accessibility ShowCase
I thought about this, too. There are some games that were
developed special for person with a disability. BUT they do
not care about accessibility!!! So I removed themfrom my list.

e.g. Winterfest: a game special developed for adults in basic education
(learning to write, read, calculate). Nice. BUT there are lots of barriers!!!!
They expect that the users are gamers?????? Hello!?
You need to be very good with the use of the mouse and keyboard to
be able to play this game. (Ok it has window modus, but this is just coincidence?)
They mark right and wrong with red/green combination ....
The help system (rat gives hints when needed) works in the training parts,
but NOT in the game itself.

Summary: Also when there are games made for a special group,
it is not always about accessibility.

Best regards,
Sandra
