We are caring for a 40 year old man with partial Di George syndrome.
Immunologically, he is not severely impaired. He has a major problem
with hypocalcemia, and, in addition to all the usual treatments for
hypocalcemia, he needs intravenous calcium infusions 3 times each week
to prevent seizures and cardiac arrhymias. He and his primary care
physician have raised a question about an allogeneic parathyroid
transplant.

I would be interested in hearing about any experience any of you have
had with a situation like this. Any tricks that might help. Clinical
outcomes? Were cultured tissues used? Immunosuppression protocols?
Anything.

Thanks.

Charles Kirkpatrick, M.D.
