The Clinical Immunology Society (CIS) is pleased to announce the 2nd
Primary Immunodeficiency Disease Consortium Conference to be held in
conjunction with the 6th FOCIS Annual Meeting in San Francisco,
California.

This is the second PID consortium CIS will host at the FOCIS Annual
Meeting. The topic of this conference will be Primary
Immunodeficiency, and will be geared towards more senior fellows in
training, junior faculty, as well as noted experts in the field. The
primary goal is to continue to advance education on the diagnosis,
molecular defects, complications, and treatment of these complex
immune deficiency diseases. The secondary goals are to develop the
careers of new scientists in this area of academic medicine; and to
enhance awareness of Clinical Immunology and its importance in
scientific discoveries and clinical applications. The third set of
goals is to stimulate future collaborations between young
investigators in different medical centers and countries, and between
new investigators and experienced physician/scientists in the field.

This years PID Consortium Conference will include formal
presentations, case and panel discussions with new investigators and
experienced faculty. Participants will include faculty and young
investigators from North, Central and South America and from Europe
and Asia . Principle topics will focus on: Diagnosis of
Immunodeficiency; Genetics, Immune Reconstruction, and the Use of
Standard and Novel Therapies.

A number of travel grants are available for both national and
international applicants wishing to present at this meeting.
Application for travel grants will be by submission of an abstract,
and a career statement; applicants who have a demonstrated interest
in Primary Immune Deficiency will be prioritized. The guidelines for
the abstract submission are attached along with the application form.
