Application Deadline is June 29!

Please pass this information on to your colleagues.

The Clinical Immunology Society (CIS) is pleased to announce its sixth
Summer School in Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases to be held November
1-5, 2007, at the Alexander Hotel in Miami, Florida. Apply today at
www.clinimmsoc.org <http://www.clinimmsoc.org/> .

The summer school is geared toward fellows in training, with a primary
goal of education in the diagnosis, pathogenesis, and treatment of
primary immunodeficiency diseases. The secondary goals of the summer
school are to attract and develop future scientists in academic medicine
and to enhance the awareness of clinical immunology and its importance
in scientific discoveries and clinical applications. This program
encourages student interaction with faculty and thought leaders in
immunology in a casual and intimate setting.

Participants should be within their last years of fellowship training or
first years of academic appointments and may hold an MD or equivalent:
selected candidates with a PhD and intent to concentrate their studies
on these diseases may also apply. Candidates may have a background in
immunology, allergy/immunology, infectious diseases, internal medicine,
rheumatology, hematology, or laboratory immunology. Those who will see
patients with an immunologic disease in the US will be given preference.

CIS plans to accept 32 applicants for the 2007 Summer School program.
Applicants will be selected based upon credentials, level of training,
letter of recommendation and the interest in the case report or research
project. CIS is looking for a case report which will be presented as a
mystery for discussion purposes but should have a final diagnosis.
Alternatively, cases with diagnostic dilemmas which could be discussed
are acceptable and completed research projects germane to the field of
primary immune deficiency are also acceptable.

All participants will give oral presentations and be provided with
travel grants to assist with airfare, hotel, and meal expenses. The
language of the School will be in English and selected participants are
required to become CIS members upon acceptance.
