Dear YaeJean, we have used an Omaya reservoir to administer both intrathecal  immunoglobulin and levofloxacin in an XLA  patient with chronic encephalitis (positive PCR to Coxiella burnetti) with partial response and surgical problems.

Anyway, some groups prefer high doses of IVIG rather than intrathecal therapy.

Related to antiviral therapy, to my knowlegde only pleconaril   could be useful in this cases and I think is no longer available.

Asunto: [PAGID] intraventricular IVIG

Dear all,

I have a 20 year-old agammagloulinemia pt who came down with chronic enterovirus meningoencephalitis.

The pt has been on multiple antibiotics, dexamethasone, and Tb medication already several months...in other hospital.

Anybody has an advice on intraventricular IVIG?  how about antiviral agent? Thanks in advance

YaeJean
