Hi Anita and Joe,
The low T cell numbers and poor antibody responses are quite common and reported in the literature (O. Sanal et al). The normal mitogen responses are a bit unusual but it depends a lot on whether one harvests the cells at 24 or 48 hours since the response per million cells is slow. Opportunistic infections are not well documented in A-T patients. This issue is also in the literature and was discussed at the 1984 A-T workshop (book by Gatti and Swift). I think Erwin Gelfand or David Nelson brought the issue up and everyone agreed that they had not seen opportunistic infections in A-T patients.

Sorry for the short response. Just rushing to the Hollywood bowl for a concert.
