Hello colleagues, I am following a 4yo boy with STAT3 mutations who has mild-moderate craniosynostosis. The family would like to move forward with surgery for correction. I am concerned that the surgical risks may outweigh the benefit in this child but I don't have any data. Does anyone have any experience with elective surgeries for craniosynostosis in these children? Surgical risks? Risk for vascular accidents? How have you managed the infectious risks? He has no underlying lung disease currently and is managed now only on Bactrim prophylaxis.
Thanks in advance, Kim
