Thank you, Tom.  Prior to his seeing me the patient had demonstrated normal NK number and function.  I think that the lack of other responses to my e-mail likely indicates that HSV keratitis as the only sign/symptom in an otherwise healthy boy is not an indication of a PIDD.  JC

It is possible. Complete NK defic could do it. But most pts w rec hsv do not have a detectable imm def.
