What were her IgA and IgM? We have followed a family now shown to have activated PI3K-Delta whose members seemed to have an inordinate problem with various types of Staph, including isolation from multiple lymph node biopsies and bilateral dacryocystitis due to Staph aureus that required stints. IgG and IgA tended to be relatively low, response to pneumovax poor, and IgM relatively elevated.

Subject: [cis-pidd] 21yo with severe Staph infections

Colleagues:

I was 'curbside' consulted on a now 21yo F.

She was well until 20yo when she developed an anterior chest wall abscess with MSSA. Subsequently the has had bilateral axillary adenitis with abscesses that required I&D x4 all MSSA. No other signs or symptoms.

Her IgG was borderline at 650; Pneumovax response was positive to 6 of 14 serotypes; DHR was normal; IgE was 11.

Suggestions?
