Dear Colleagues
I have a 27 year old girl with AR-CGD who has just been diagnosed with metastatic adenocarcinoma, probably from a pancreatic primary. Prognosis is not good but there are 3 choices of chemotherapy available. The most effective (35% response rate and median survival of ~11 months) is also toxic with myelosuppression and sepsis prominent. The other two options are less effective, however also less likely to cause significant myelosuppression.

*         Has anyone seen a similar case?

*         Any experience of the need for myelosupprssive chemotherapy in a CGD patient and the management of consequent neutropaenia?

*         Any experience on the potential use / effectiveness of Interferon Gamma +/_ G-CSF in such circumstances?
