we have had 2 lung cancers — both adenocarcinoma—

you might ask USIDNET how many have been observed. Not sure if we have smoking as a field.

Colleagues:

I follow a 34yo man with CVID. Because of a persistent cough and a CT suggestive of early interstitial disease, he had a VATS lung biopsy. There were minimal interstitial changes, but an area of “atypical adenomatous hyperplasia (AAH)” was noted on pathology. Apparently AAH may precede the development of adenocarcinoma.

Has anyone seen AAH or lung adenocarcinoma in a non-smoking adult with CVID?

The area of AAH was not seen on the initial CT scan. Any suggestions regarding monitoring this process?

Thank you for your help.
