In its latest letter to the FCC, the CTIA using data from IDC, now
estimates 60% of active smartphones are WEA 3.0 capable.
About 85% of adults have smart cell phones in the U.S. About 7% have
feature phones (dumb phones). And about 3% don't have cell phones.
Approximately 31% of households have a fixed landline telephone.
I'm guessing carriers won't share network device registration data with
CTIA, so it needs to use third-party estimates. CTIA makes no
representations or warranties as to the completeness, accuracy, or
timeliness of third-party data used to establish these estimates.
