[SBE] unlicensed wireless

Bill,

That's one of the major uses. The fact that they're unlicensed means that
you can put whatever traffic on the link that you want. We use them in radio
broadcast for unlicensed STL links -- subject to any interference that comes
along, obviously.

If you're looking to provide ISP-type services to a community, then you're
probably looking at a point-to-multipoint system. Take a look at Proxim
(www.proxim.com) or Redline (www.redlinecommunications.com) for PMP systems.

Subject: [SBE] unlicensed wireless

I would like to get some input on allowed use of unlicensed wireless router
type of devices. Is "broadcast" of this technology legal. In other words,
can someone use unlicensed 2.4 GHZ devices to provide internet services to a
community?
