Job Summary:
Responsible for operation and management of the Engineering/Operations
Department and execution of all functions associated with facilities
design, installation and maintenance. Acts as Systems Administrator for
all LAN/WAN related technologies.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:***
· Responsible for operation and management of
Engineering/Operations Department of station, including employee
supervision, training and evaluation
· Plan, assign and direct work of Engineering/Operations
Department employees
· Ensure training of employees on proper operation of all
station equipment
· Recommend and make aware the broadcast technical needs of
station to General Manager and Corporate management
· Evaluate needs for broadcasting equipment and make
recommendation for improvements in technical performance of station
equipment
· Ensure compliance with FCC rules and regulations, and make
sure station meets FCC technical standards
· Assist in installation, maintenance and repair of computer
networks, hardware and software systems
· Ensure all station broadcasting equipment is operating
properly, and install and interface all new broadcast equipment
· Responsible for overall supervision of duties and work
schedules of Mater Control Operators/Supervisors and technical staff
· Oversee maintenance of station-owned vehicles
· Prepare and work within budget for technical needs of station
· Provide business machines and computer maintenance and support
for station employees
· Assure proper operation of all emergency power equipment at
station
· Address complaints and resolve problems relating to equipment
and all areas of Engineering Department responsibility
· Frequent reaching, grasping, lifting, twisting, bending,
stooping, standing, climbing and other physical demands to operate,
inspect and repair production equipment
· Additional related responsibilities as assigned

*Required Skills/Education & Certification:***
· High school graduate (or equivalent) plus technical school,
some college preferred**
· At least five years' TV broadcast engineering with management
experience (continued)**

· Training in electronic studio equipment and transmitter
operation, repair and maintenance**
· Thorough knowledge of FCC rules and regulations applicable to
station; FCC license (or equivalent)**
· Valid drivers license with good driving record**
· Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams**
· Ability to use electronic test equipment**
· Computer literate
· Basic math skills**
· Knowledge of mechanical concepts**
· Knowledge of current principles and practices involved in
daily administration of television station Engineering/Operations
Department
· Ability of to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
· Ability to prepare and administer departmental budgets
· Ability to establish and maintain accurate records associated
with operations department activities
· Broad working knowledge of all theory, principles and
practices associated with television station operation functions
