[SBE] going green - tower lights

When we put LEDs on our tower, current draw went from 10 amps on the beacons to 1 amp. Side light current draw went from 1.5 amps to about .75 amps. Since the beacons flash, probably not a whole lot of effect on the overall power draw (30 kW TPO Harris and 10 ton AC eats most of the power).

How about a real topic for this subject?

Going green is the buzz now. Frankly, I think it's somehting that we
should have been doing all along because it's the right thing to do, not
because it's fashionable and pleases the stockholders.

But now that more people are understanding the concern, what are your
stations and facilities doing on the technical side to promote being
green? I'm not looking for the promotional efforts, I mean the real
efforts. Changing lighting? Replacing inefficient systems? Alternate
energy sources? Tell us.
