[SBE] DTV converter

I purchased the Magnavox TB100MG9 at Sears (the last one on the shelf)
and it works great. After connection I ran the initial setup routine and
it scanned for the available channels. The interesting thing is it found
all of the local channels except one but it did find two Oklahoma City
channels. I have an array consisting of one VHF/UHF and two additional
UHF only antennas in my attic to cover reception of all of my local
stations. The menus were straight forward and the manual is good. The
output choices are RF channel 3 or 4 and composite video with discrete
audio. I was sort of surprised that component video was not included.
The pass through function must be accessed through a menu. The Oklahoma
City stations were just a matter of luck. I was setting up my box after
a storm had passed and ducting was still in place. Those stations
started falling apart about an hour later, but for an hour it was very
interesting seeing a perfect picture in Tulsa from an OKC station. The
local station that was missed was off the air due to the storm, a later
scan included the missing station. Does anyone know of any of the pass
through boxes that will pass through the analog signal as another channel
along with the digital lineup? The reason I ask this is for my own
personal situation. I am not on cable so I mix a modulator on channel 4
into my antenna distribution system that is fed by my security camera
DVR. If we want to check the cameras we just switch to channel 4 with
the remote and we see all four cameras in a quad split or if I want to
keep an eye on something while still watching TV I can put the DVR in
PIP. We can see the security cameras on any TV in the house. I was
hoping someone would make a converter box that would make the analog pass
through channels available with the digital channels without menu
switching. My wife and mother-in-law already feel I am building a TV
station at home and what we have now is almost too complicated for them
since they subscribe to the KISS method. When I tell them about the
changes coming in February they just roll their eyes and are not
impressed with having to go to a menu to view the security cameras. I
have a coupon left that expires on June 10. Thanks! Richard Hardy

Would be interested in a brief review once you've had the chance to
test
it out. I'm trying to gather information with the expectation
stations
will be getting more and more DTV Rx calls as the deadline gets
nearer.
