Are you referring to the training signal in the VBI that used to be used for ghost cancelling? Ours was generated inside a Tek 1910 and is still in service. I don't know of anyone that actually uses it in the field.

Analog NTSC test equipment is being dropped quickly from manufacturer's lines with the analog cut-off approaching. I don't know where you might find a GCR inserter these days.
