In Syracuse, we have a program where we have samples of converters,
antennas, printed matter and take it out to Libraries and do a
Powerpoint presentation and Q/A session about the conversion and what
most people should need to get going. I even have a 4 bay built from
wood and coat hangers to show how little it takes to receive a digital
signal. SBE Chapter 39 in Tampa is organizing a DTV session for
consumers in cooperation with Hillsborogh county in November. They will
be recording it and repeating it on the county's PEGS channel. There are
many opportunities for chapters to do similar programs. I really don't
believe that you could get the retailers on board, they seem to only be
interested in selling cable or satellite dishes to consumers.
