Come on now.  I actually got to reading your note after reading the replies to it from others.
 
Now some on this list know I am a red white and blue conservative.  I can't stomach any of the PC establishmennt and the hypocrisy of Pelosi and Reid makes me want to puke every time I see or hear them.  Yet, I can't really say Republican any longer as the last eight years, and Grandpa, and Rush et al have been an embrasssment.
 
I say the above so you will understand that I am in complete agreement with what others said and find your comments about Obama, black history month etc totally uncalled for, and inaccurate.
 
There is no reason to bring race into this at all.  Whatever Obama does with his family in terms of ethnicity is his business, just as your race, religion et al is yours.  But Obama is only 1/2 black and that does not matter either.  If you followed the debate over the last year, you would realize that many blacks actually do not consider him to be black, or black enough.
 
The point is, of his first few comments, decisions etc, I really can't find any major fault with Obama,,,except for turning up the T-stat in the Oval Office.   He told Pelosi to remove contraceptives from the stimulus, he told Citigroup to cancel their plane, he chided the greater DC area for its reaction to snow and ice.  How he handled his informal tour of the press area was pretty cool.  He seems very much a family guy in a way that could probably teach liberals what a family is and in a way that I think shows a certain conservativeness.  In some of his comments over the past two years, I have to say, he may very well be the most American president we have had in some time and someone who will not be a puppet of Europe, unlike Bush and Clinton.  Give the guy a chance, he does seem to have some merits. Your tirade of economic woes for the station still benefits those who are receiving the $1.2 million from teh station to stay on analog longer, thus maintaing income to the utility, tower owner, and we lowly engineers that keep the boxes working.  If a station can't manage to stay on for another 4 months, it is so badly managed going DTV only early will likely not help either. Then lets not forget that your station income is derived from the number of eyeballs that can see it. If you lose some percent of your audience because they do not have DTV reception, then your bottom line Nielsen numbers are also going to drop and sales by the $/k income drops. But if you allow the NTIA enough time to fund the boxes, and stores to sell the boxes, you lose less as time goes by because your universe of eyeballs increases on dtv.   The Government is forcing obsolence of analog receivers purely to gain the income from the auctioned frequency spectrum.   Besides, you can't turn off analog in February, its black history month and Obama must speak to his audience. March is NBA finals, April is the start of Baseball.  May kids are still in school, so we have to wait for summer when lots of people no longer watch TV, and travel, go outside, or take that tax refund and spend it on a new big screen DTV set. Congress will not be in session, so the hate mail will be tossed by staff and then congress comes back in September long after any hate mail has dwindled to near nothing. Henry
