For decades now...RX sites need not be licensed but can optionally be so to protect/coordinate against terrestrial microwave interference.

This of course is only applicable to C-Band...no significant conflicts on Ku-Band (FSS or DBS) RO's.

Subject: [SBE] FCC Authorization

Hello,

Does anyone know if an FCC?license or authorization is required to operate a
'receive-only' satellite downlink station?

Best Regards,
Mark
