No, not required, but heres the catch.



Do an engineering analysis regarding interference and file the station on all the freqs you may receive on, public notice on its new operational parameters or you will be subject to interference with little to no recourse should later stations come on air or change frequencies such to interfere.

For a truly commercial grade system, a paper analysis should be done first, followed by an on site analysis with directional horn and spec an, identifying all known interferors from the paper exercise and unknowns found in field, verifying that C/I (carrier to interference) will not be problematic, even during approximated selective path fades (unwanted does not fade, but wanted does), etc.

Then file the paperwork to preclude future problems. Refer to NSMA for more details on the technical stuff if need be.
