[SBE] Best map program?

Hi, Gary:

If you go to the Cavell & Mertz [fccinfo] website they have a Google
plug in that actually maps existing BAS microwave links (as well as
locations of AM, FM TV and ASR's) on Google Earth to show you what
exists. That's a good place to start. Seeing what other people have
built in a given area can help with your planning process.

Neat!

You can also get a pretty good idea of potential obstacles in the path
using features in Google Earth once you establish your transmit and
receive sites in the program. Since as we know the FCC database that C
& M uses is not always totally accurate or up to date, you need to go
further on the PCN road.

Once you feel you have some assurance you have a path, I'd agree with
suggestions to use DeLorme Topo USA to get the geo specifics you need
to handle what must go into a PCN.
