Ed-
You certainly could do it, I suppose. Make sure that you have good seals as the increase in weight to lift will be a factor.
Have you chatted with Will-Burt about this?

Subject: [SBE] Nycoil question..TV trucks
I have a need to add some control circuits and possibly air tubing to operate equipment on top of a 30' mast will-burt mast built into a truck.
i cannot put more into the existing nycoil and do not want to modify the contents of the nycoil unless necessary.
is there any reason that i could not strap another peice of nycoil to the existing peice,,,and what is the preferred method of doing so?
there will be no coax or other RF cables of any sort in this new nycoil, just DC control and some form of small air hose
any thoughts appreciated
