Great stuff. It should also be noted that the Lunar Module's computer actually "crashed" right before landing.

On this, the 40th anniversary of man setting foot on the moon, I
thought perhaps it was worth a moment to recall how close the whole
thing came to being cancelled - not by something happening at the
launch site or in Houston, but by a telcomm issue on another continent.
