An issue a lot of folks will discover in using these USB interfacii: mic level isn't as hot as what you'd like to see.

The folks at Lexicon explained it over the phone to me. The box is receiving power from the USB connection, and at 5V you're not exactly going to be hitting the rails on your output. Be ready to make a few adjustments to compensate.
