    I would add to this, that the mic should probably  be slightly off-axis,
not directly in front of the lips. Keeps the "pop" down.

    However, in using David Clark headsets with the mic in a noisy
helicopter, the pop doesn't seem to happen. The mics seem to be well
buffered by the VOX.
