I remember meeting Larry at a road show in Maine, and he has given me a lot
of good mentoring through my studies to become a broadcast engineer. His
loss is a major blow to the broadcast community. My Condolences to his
family.

Subject: [SBE] Passing of Larry Bloomfield

It is with sadness that I inform everyone of the passing of Larry
Bloomfield. Larry was an active member of the Society, and was a past
educator of the year. Every year he tirelessly traveled around the
country to SBE chapters with his Taste of NAB road show, giving members
who would not otherwise be exposed to new products and technologies a
look at them. He was a friend of SBE, often handing out membership
applications at his road show, and encouraging non-members to join up.
He had a thirst for knowledge, and as we say in the business had been
around enough to know broadcasting inside out. Our thoughts go out to
his wife Carolee and sons Larry and Tom. Services will be held at the
Burns Funeral Home, in Florence Or. on November 14, 2010
