Ed,
You might want to give True RTA a test drive on your PC. The simple version is free, the 1/3,1/4 octave versions are moderately priced. As well, there are options to use calibrated mics if live audio is your thing. I used it with my Netbook's mic input when testing the frequency response of the Sony Dash tablet for internet stream (I mad a simple 'L' pad to match line to mic level).

Other than the usual expensive products like Audio Precision, what Audio RTA units have others found useful? I am especially interested in USB functionality . I have been looking at the Virtins RTA 168 package.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
