[Voxnovus] 60x60 debut of the UnTwelve mix in Istanbul - April 14, 2010

The 60x60 UnTwelve Mix receives its debut at the Istanbul Technical
University in Istanbul, Turkey today at 3:00 PM (15:00) Local time.

The 60x60 "UnTwelve mix" is the result of a special collaboration between
60x60, the NYC-born organization that puts on 60 works by 60 composers in 60
minutes, and the Chicago-based UnTwelve. Aaron Krister Johnson of UnTwelve
approached 60x60 to see if he wanted to present a special 60x60 event that
focused on works which were pushing the boundaries of new musical tunings,
microtonality, and otherwise exploring pitch in interesting new ways. The
result is a fascinating and moving collage which is greater than the sum of
its parts, by both allowing the 60x60 and UnTwelve missions to continue, and
also giving a new platform to help composers interested in tuning and
microtonality to show off new coloristic possibilities in an already popular
format for composers. We are certain that audiences and composers alike will
be entertained and inspired to further the missions of both organizations.
