The screening of the Sanguine Mix as a part of our The Street: Festival of
Electronic Music, Art and Performance. The screening will happen on December
2 at 8PM. The date falls to an opening of Art Basel Miami. The whole
festival will happen (as the title suggests) on the street in front of the
gallery.

For centuries, the street has engaged a discourse between the artists and
society whether through performances, happenings or exhibitions. Expanding
the tradition to the digital domain, we are bringing electroacoustic music,
art and performance to the streets of Miami's Wynwood District. The festival
aims to reinvigorate the contact between the experimental and the public
during this year's Art Basel Miami 2010, featuring video screenings and
real-time performances by a laptop orchestra, electronic music improvisers,
robots, sensor-embedded belly dancer, software artist and more. The line up
includes local, national and International names such as FLEA: FIU Laptop &
Electronic Arts Ensemble, FRIDAMUSIQ, EMMI: Expressive Machines Musical
Instruments, James George, Aurie Hsu, Daniel Peterson, Keiko Uenishi and
SHARE.

60x60 contains 60 works from 60 different composers. Each composition is 60
seconds (or less) in duration sequenced together to create a one hour
performance. Highlighting the work of a great many composers, 60x60
testifies to the vibrancy of contemporary composition by presenting the
diverse array of styles, aesthetics and techniques being used today.

This 60x60 video collaboration of Robert Voisey with Patrick Liddell is
called 360 degrees of 60x60 (Sanguine Mix) and is sponsored in part by the
International Computer Music Association (ICMA). The works included in the
mix were created specifically for the 2010 ICMC RED Edition (International
Computer Music Conference) presented by Stony Brook University in New York
City and Stony Brook. Six 60x60 mixes featuring 360 pieces from different
composers throughout the world will presented during the conference and at
remote concerts around the globe.

The 6 different mixes are all named a different shade of red to honor the
RED edition of ICMC: 60x60 Burgundy mix, Crimson mix, Magenta mix, Sanguine
mix, Scarlet mix, and Vermilion mix. Each mix is one hour long and contains
different composers totaling to 360 different works each by different
composers from countries around the world.

Patrick Liddell is a composer and video artist living in Chicago. His
music/video is a postmodern blend of 'art' and 'popular' styles, with strong
hints of electronic, ethnic, video game, experimental, and film music. His
YouTube project "Video Room 1000" has received over one million views and
has been featured on a host of viral websites.
