COMPOSER’S VOICE CONCERT – March 27, 2011

March 27, 2011 (NEW YORK, NEW YORK) Vox Novus founder and director, Rob
Voisey, in collaboration with the Remarkable Theater Brigade and Jan Hus
Church is proud to introduce his latest ground-breaking new-music idea:
15-Minutes-of-Fame: 15 new pieces by 15 composers performed in 15 minutes!
The first in an open-ended series will take place at the Composer’s Voice
concert series March 27, 2011 concert:

15-Minutes-of-Fame: Shiau-uen Ding, piano: 15 one-minute piano works
inspired by every possible aspect of Franz Liszt, including his personality,
his music, and his philosophy. The one-minute piano works were composed
specifically for this project for pianist Shiau-uen Ding as part of the
Liszt Bicentennial Bash.

This concert also features flautist Laura Falzon and pianist Aysegul
Durakoglu performing the works of Nickos Harizanos, Munir Beken, and Shirish
Korde.

Theremin master Kevin Kissinger will be performing his own compositions on
this unique instrument.

“With few opportunities and much competition, young composers show
creativity in just getting heard.” And in Chris Pasles’s article in the Los
Angeles Times, Robert Voisey is highlighted as one of those composers. His
60x60 Dance project was described by The New York Times as: “quite mad. But
it's this kind of madness that makes the cultural world go round”

Pianist Shiau-uen Ding was called a “daredevil” by the New York Times for
her performance at Bang on a Can Marathon and “a powerful force on the new
music scene” by Array for her performance at Spark Festival in Minneapolis.
She has collaborated with internationally renowned performers and composers,
including Steve Reich, Michael Kugel, George Tsontakis, who refers to her
performance of his Ghost Variations as a “monster performance,” and Moritz
Eggert, who dedicated his Hämmerklavier XIX: Hymnen der Welt (Afghanistan
bis Zimbabwe) to her.

Turkish pianist Aysegul Durakoglu was featured as soloist in the
International Istanbul Music Festival with James Galway. As a member of the
NYU Chamber Music Ensemble, she won the NYU’s Chamber Music Special Award
for her contribution and leadership.

Composer Shirish Korde is celebrated for “integrating and synthesizing music
of diverse cultures into breathtaking works of complex expressive layers.”
Musical America.

Flutist Laura Falzon has been praised by the Musical Times for her
“versatile technique,” and hailed by the Music & Musicians as “an excellent
instrumentalist.”

Composer-performer-multii-instrumentalist-Theremin master Kevin Kissinger
has received recognition for “Best performance of the year” in 2006 and 2007
by Spellbound in the neo-classical and avante-garde categories.

Composer's Voice Concert Series is an opportunity for contemporary composers
to express their musical aesthetic and personal "voice" created in their
compositions. Started in 2001, the “Composer’s Voice” concert series is
presenting its 57th concert Sunday March 27, 2011. The concert is FREE. We
only accept donations of food and clothing for the Homeless Advocacy &
