On May 1, 2012 at 7:30 PM Oklahoma Composer's Association Salon Concerts
will present 60x60 Video (Athena Mix) at Cameron University, School of Music
in Lawton, Oklahoma.

60x60 Video will take 60 one-minute recorded works from 60 different
composers/sound artists and pair it with video created by Sabrina Pena
Young.

60 works by 60 artists, 60x60 offers something different every minute.
60x60 is a project containing 60 works each 60 seconds in length presented
continuously in an hour performance synchronized with an analog clock. 60x60
presents a slice of what is happening in the contemporary music scene by
representing 60 works that are diverse in aesthetic and style. Works are
selected from an international pool of emerging and established composers
and sequenced in order. The resulting mix is presented, without
interruption, as a continuous one-hour performance synchronized to an
on-stage analog clock.

Intermedia composer, percussionist, author, and obsessive sci-fi buff,
Sabrina Pena Young composes mind-numbing electroacoustic works heard in
Asia, North America, Australia, and Europe. Her music has been heard in film
festivals, radio, electronic dance clubs, random boom boxes in France, and
as not-so-pleasant background music. Her multimedia works have been
performed at venues like the Beijing Conservatory, the International
Computer Music Conference, Miramax's Project Greenlight, the Athena
Festival, the New York International Independent Film Festival, Art Basil
Miami, Turkey's Cinema for Peace, and Pulsefield International Exhibition of
Sound Art.

Sabrina Pena Young be presenting the video version of the 60 x 60 Athena
Mix, an exciting and eclectic electronic mix of sixty short one minute
electronic compositions by women around the world. The original Athena Mix
was presented at the Athena Festival at Murray State University in 2011.
This version has original video that she created using a combination of
Moviestorm and Final Cut.

60 compositions were selected from 200 international submissions to be
played continuously in a one-hour performance. Submissions for the Athena
Mix included submissions from women all over the globe, including
submissions from New Zealand, Italy, the Americas, Ukraine, Germany, Spain,
Greece, the United Kingdom, and Taiwan. 60x60 is a one-hour-long show made
by sequencing 60 pre-recorded pieces by 60 different composers, each piece a
minute in length or shorter. Highlighting the work of a great many
composers, 60x60 testifies to the vibrancy of contemporary composition by
present a diverse array of styles, aesthetics, and techniques being used
today. 60x60 has received thousands of submissions from over 30 countries,
produced radio shows, created multimedia and multidisciplinary events, and
released several albums.

The 60x60 Athena Mix is inspired by the 2011 Athena Festival at Murray State
University. The Athena Festival is a unique biennial event which is devoted
to the performance of music composed by women. Click Here for more details
