Electronic Music Midwest presenting the 60x60 (2012) EMM Mix

The Electronic Music Midwest Festival has been a strong supporter of 60x60.
The EMM festival hosted 60x60 in 2005 with the first 60x60 (2005) Midwest
Mix and has presented a version of 60x60 every year since in one incarnation
or another. (Midwest mixes, International mixes, audio performances, audio
installations, video performances, and of course 60x60 Dance !)

To celebrate 60x60's decade of one-minute miniatures, a special 60x60 EMM
MIX has been created specifically for the festival coming Thursday, October,
11 2012 - Saturday October 13, 2012 in Romeoville, Illinois. This 60x60 mix
will be set as an audio installation welcoming audiences to each concert in
the festival.  This mix contains composers who have both submitted to 60x60
and have attended EMM over the past decade.

EMM brings a wide variety of electroacoustic music to the Midwest.  The
festival consists of nine short concerts about 1 hour in length from
Thursday to Saturday containing a host of international composers and
musicians presenting and performing new works.  

Electronic Music Midwest will present the works of more than 100 composers.
It will open with SoundProof a West Coast trio performing Fifteen Minutes of
Fame as well as longer works.   The festival also features Andrew Spencer
will perform at least once on every concert after the opening.

The Festival brings together vibrant and interesting artists of all forms,
giving them a vehicle for their expressions, and a place for them to share
ideas with others. Composers have traveled from around the world to share
their music with audiences in the Midwest. EMM creates a pleasant experience
for audiences to listen to new works and speak with their creators in
person. It is a unique opportunity to meet an international community of
composers and musicians creating the music of tomorrow, today.
