Thursday October 20, 2016 Composer?s Voice is presenting a unique concert of longer and introspective pieces including John McGuire?s A Cappela and Reiko F?tting? s "...gesammeltes Schweigen..." performed by Beth Griffith ?The piece that turned me to jelly, though, was A cappella, by John McGuire, recently resident in New York after decades in Cologne. With impassioned expressiveness, soprano Beth Griffith sang syncopated vowel sounds over a sparkling electronic background, medieval but vibrant in its contrapuntal austerity.? Other performance will include: ?Baldwin / Now? by M. Anthony Reimer and ?Shape Study: Music for Metamorphoses? by Mike McFerron As well as Sandra Sprecher performing her own piece ?Self portrait? and Robert Voisey throat singing his work ?melting? Tonight?s performance will be start at 7:30 at the Firehouse Composer?s Voice Firehouse 246 Frost St, Brooklyn, NY 11211 October 20, 2016 7:30 PM www.ComposersVoice.com
