Thomas Piercy is a critically acclaimed musician with orchestral, concerto,
solo recital and chamber music appearances throughout the Americas, Europe
and Asia. Described by The New York Times as “Brilliant...playing with
refinement and flair…evoking a panache in the contemporary works…,”

Thomas Piercy is a clarinetist and a hichiriki player. Composer’s Voice
is pleased to feature this fabulous performer who champions new music by
living composers. If you missed our live performance and discussion you
can view and edited version here on YouTube:

The performance presents new works by living composers, a sneak peak of two
new Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame, and a discussion about the hichiriki. The
hichiriki (篳篥) is a double reed Japanese fue (flute) used as one of two
main melodic instruments in Japanese gagaku music.

Please take a listen. It would be great to get your feedback and opinion
of what you think about presenting musicians performing new music.

Best,

Robert Voisey
