This episode of Composer's Voice introduces Double Bassist MattHare and 
composer/pianist Hayk Arsenyan and their journey of friendship through 
the brotherhood of music with their work, "Stratum"


"Stratum", for bass and piano was composed by pianist Hayk Arsenyan, 
member of the Composers Unions of France and Armenia.Commissioned and 
premiered by acclaimed bass player Matt Hare for theInternational 
Society of Bassists convention in Colorado in 2015, this piece has been 
performed across the US and Canada.


Matt Hare is a double bassist, composer, and educator based in Southern 
California.

In the upcoming season he will premier his orchestration of Hayk 
Arsenyan's Stratum, a concertante for double bass and piano, with 
theNational Chamber Orchestra of Armenia. Beyond mentoring the bass 
studio at UCI, Hare is a regular guest clinician at high schools in the 
area. Dr. Hare is alsothe director of Bass Forward, a non-profit that 
hosts bass events aroundSouthern California.


Composer's Voice airs its half-hour show the first Saturday at 2:00 PM 
EST (UTC-5) of every month on NYC cable access TV with 
ManhattanNeighborhood's Network channel 2.
