Composer’s Voice, the innovative television series that celebrates living
composers and cutting-edge performance, proudly presents a new episode
featuring David Bohn and his third installment of Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame—a
program of fifteen one-minute works for toy piano. This episode spotlights
Bohn’s live concert performance at Hawthorn Contemporary Art Gallery in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, transforming miniature masterpieces into a compelling
audiovisual experience.
A longtime advocate for contemporary music and unique instrumentation,
David Bohn brings the charm and unexpected power of the toy piano into the
spotlight. With a repertoire that is bold, whimsical, and deeply inventive,
Bohn continues to expand the instrument’s artistic reach. His collaboration
with Vox Novus and Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame highlights his commitment to
accessible, high-impact performance of new works.
This featured concert performance includes premieres from 15 composers
around the world:
Ali A'râb, Erik Branch, Marek Feddern, Wajdi Abou Diab, Alp Durmaz, Ulf
Grahn, Anna Vienna Ho, Satoru Ikeda, Wenbin Lyu, Maria Christine Muyco,
Sergio Naddei, Ryan Charles Ramer, Volker Ignaz Schmidt, Juan María Solare,
and Motohide Taguchi.
Each composer contributes a uniquely imagined 60-second work, resulting in
a kaleidoscopic program that ranges from virtuosic and experimental to
playful and poetic—perfectly suited to the intimate scale and quirky timbre
of the toy piano.
Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame, created by Robert Voisey and produced by Vox
Novus, is a global initiative that has premiered thousands of one-minute
