A Cascade of Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame
Over the past year, in preparation for the 15th anniversary of
Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame, Vox Novus (curated by Robert Voisey) launched more
than 15 calls-for-scores on Music Avatar—each one a collaboration with a
unique and daring performer. We are now deep into the joyful chaos of
reviewing scores, planning concerts, premiering works, and navigating the
production rollercoaster that is new music in motion.
If you submitted a piece, performed on one, or are curious about where
things stand—this post is for you.
Celebrating 15 Years of New Music
Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame was created to offer composers real opportunities:
a world premiere, a motivated performer, and a reason to write. Scaling
this up to celebrate 15 years meant embracing abundance: more performers,
more composers, more premieres.
Where Are We Now?
Projects are in various stages:
• Calls still open
• Scores under review
• Concerts scheduled
• Performances premiered
• Recordings & feedback being processed
It’s a living ecosystem, and we’re doing our best to communicate
individually—but there’s a lot in motion.
Why This Announcement?
Transparency. Celebration. Encouragement. We want to share the scope of
what’s happening, offer a peek behind the curtain, and encourage your
patience and support as we bring these creative visions to life.
Empowering Each Other
This project only thrives with your continued engagement, flexibility, and
belief in community-driven music-making. Thank you for being part of
something this wild and wonderful.
More updates—including performer highlights, concert details, and
recordings—are coming soon. Until then, keep writing, keep dreaming, and
keep listening.

Celebrating 15 Years of Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame
For fifteen years, Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame has embodied the mission of Vox
Novus: to empower composers by giving them opportunities for performance,
exposure, and connection. Each project invites composers to write
one-minute works for a dedicated performer—offering more than just a
premiere, but a gateway to collaboration.
These one-minute pieces often become something more:
Expanded into larger commissions
Featured on albums
Highlighted in press
Performed in concerts around the world
At its core, this is about creating community—linking passionate musicians
with adventurous composers to foster lasting artistic relationships.
Want to know if you’ve been selected?
Selections are posted on our dedicated page:
www.voxnovus.com/15_Minutes_of_Fame/musicians
Often, multiple sets of 15 are selected from a single call—a rare and
remarkable aspect of this project that deserves more recognition. It means
more music, more connections, more impact.
We encourage everyone—participants past and present—to explore the
listings, share the link, and spread the word. Here’s to 15 years of music,
and the countless minutes of fame still to come.

Why do ONE when you can double the FUN!
Music isn't about prizes and accolades. It is about sharing the emotion and
inspiration of a composer and musician in a unique collaborative spirit.
With all of the challenges in the world why limit ourselves when we can do
more. Vox Novus puts out a call for scores to create a singular set of 15
works dedicated to a musician/ensemble or instrumentation. Things happen.
When they do... why not create 2!
Drew Hosler is a saxophonist which helped begin the 2nd iteration of
Fifteen-Minutes-of-Faem with 2 sets of tenor sax. It seems only appropriate
he does it again with his second call for scores.

and Keri Lee will be coming to NYC to record these 2 sets for Composer's

THE ARIA PROJECT ISN'T FINISHED
DIDN'T GET PICKED? DON'T SULK! We still have a soprano who has not picked
her set of 15, so there is still a chance to get a performance. Also there
was hint that one of the sopranos might pick another set... so... it ain't
over yet. With that said... why sulk at all! Submit to another FMOF while
you are waiting! Keep the good times rolling! Get involved! Be a part of
the action! Meet some musicians!
Please be patient. I know it is hard. I know it is tough and you are
excited with your minute that you submitted. Just to give you a quick
update of Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame projects still in the selection process:
Orest Smovzh, Lisa Bost-Sandberg, Annie Gosfield, Andrew White, Yumi
Suehiro, and David Bohn.
All of the above 6 mentioned projects are in various stages of "selection".
It can be a long and involved process with many factors. There is a lot
going on. I will keep you updated on their progress.
Speaking of various stages of production. Calls for scores are just the
first stage of Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame. Next are the performances. We have
many scheduled, in various stages of production, and in different
performance types.
PERFORMANCES
I have been teasing some of the upcomming plans and events scheduled for
Fifteen-Miutes-of-Fame. The project is going to be embracing a new format
that was fairly successful; which is an online listening party to FMOF
being presented on Composer's Voice. The idea is to create excitiment and
draw people to listen to the wonderful music being written for these
talented musicians.

As we charge into summer, Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame is in full swing—honoring
15 years of showcasing bold, one-minute works by living composers. With
more than fifteen calls-for-scores issued in just the past six months, the
response has been incredible. Works have been reviewed, musicians selected,
concerts scheduled, and recordings planned. And now, as the summer unfolds,
the real magic begins—on stage and online.
This week, we're preparing an online listening party to be streamed through
the Vox Novus YouTube Channel. This initiative is part of a broader
collaboration with Drew Hosler, a founding member of the Blank Experiment
and an invaluable partner in expanding our video and streaming
capabilities. Drew has not only promoted the project with incredible
passion but has brought in other artists from his ensemble to participate
in the program.
We mentioned it above, but it is important to highlight it again. Drew
Hosler is part of Blank Experiment and has been collaborating with FMOF
from the beginning of this new venture with online streaming and video. He
has been instrumental in promoting the project and bringing in other
members of his ensemble to Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame.
David Bohn has been a longtime supporter and champion of
Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame. Not only has he participated as a
composer—selected by performers in over 15 sets—he has also performed as a
featured musician on an eclectic mix of instruments, including organ, toy
piano, taishogoto, and melodica. He was instrumental in introducing Drew
Hosler to the project and has helped expand FMOF’s reach across the new
music community.
On August 8th, 2025 David will be presenting Fiftee-Minutes-of-Fame at the
Organ Historical Society 2025 National Convention in Milwaukee.
Also in August, Andrew White is coming to NYC to present the Collaboration
& Accompaniment project. He will also be performing his new selection of
Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame. (Still in the judging process.) More to come!
There are several Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame performances and recordings
happening this summer. Linda Chatterton and YunZhe Lin will be premiering
their FMOF at Hatch Recital Hall at the University of Rochester Friday,
July 11, 2025 and then they will come to NYC for an encore performance on
July 13th.
In the fall, Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame is currently scheduling performances
with cellist Eunice Koh; the guitar & flute duo Maja Radovanlija and Dalia
Chin; and pianist Yumi Suehiro.
Some sad news, we will need to postpone the set of 15 for the performer Hon
Ning Cheung dues to health reasons.

Composer’s Voice continues to spotlight the creative impact of
Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame, reaffirming its role as a vital platform for
living composers and adventurous performers. The series will air several
episodes featuring past FMOF projects, including the B# Trio’s performance
in Tennessee and Lisa Bost-Sandberg’s evocative electro-acoustic works
premiered at the Electronic Music Midwest festival in Kansas City.
Production is also underway for new episodes with Keri Lee Pierson and the
CAMP ensemble, expected to air later this summer.
Composer’s Voice is a half-hour TV series showcasing fresh contemporary
music by living composers, performed by musicians who champion new work.

CALL FOR SCORESA Challenge to Composers!
To celebrate 15 years of Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame, we launched a flood of
calls—maybe too many. Some folks even scolded me! But I believe in giving
composers more opportunities, not fewer.
Now, I’m issuing a challenge:
I've reopened two recent calls for one more week:
Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame featuring soprano Coco Lau

If not? Maybe it is time to scale back.

Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame (FMOF) isn’t just a call-for-scores—it’s a platform
for discovery.
You submit 60 seconds of music. We connect you with performers eager to
bring your work to life.
You get a performance. A recording. Visibility. And maybe something more: a
real collaboration.
FMOF is for composers who want to:
– Experiment with new instruments
– Meet musicians passionate about new music
– Join a supportive community
– Be heard—and grow from it
The Challenge: I was a little disappointed with the response to the last
Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame calls. We’ve reopened two recent calls—for soprano
Coco Lau and for Daniel Váczi with the Glissotar—for one week only.
If we receive 20–30 scores for each, we’ll launch more new calls. This is
your moment to shape the future of the project and keep these opportunities
flowing. *Let’s prove there’s real momentum.*
