(Also, keep in mind that the ASMP does not necessarily endorse the ideas, opinions, suggestions, etc. made by members of the Listserv.)
Joining the ASMP Listserv also signifies that you agree to treat your peers with the same courtesy and respect that they will give you. While I recognize not everyone will agree with the ideas, opinions, suggestions, etc. expressed on this Listserv, unprofessional behavior such as personal attacks, threats, unfounded criticism, etc. will not be tolerated.

HELPFUL HINTS :
You may post as soon as you have been accepted as a member, but it is advisable to watch and wait at first to see how the group operates.
I ask that you keep your postings short and to the point, respond privately to postings that would not be of interest to all subscribers, and post no advertising without permission.
Only ASMP members may post notifications about openings and shows.
Only ASMP Sponsors and Members may post classifieds
Please remember that each message posted to the ASMP Listserv is received by all Listserv members. Depending on your individual mail program and it's settings a reply you make to a message from the Listserv may go to the list or just the original poster. I suggest that you check that the message is going where you want it to. It can be very embarrassing otherwise!
Again, please keep your messages as brief and to the point as possible - resist the temptation to orate to a captive audience, or speak beyond your experience.
Keep your quoting to the absolute minimum!
Feel free to use a smiley or similar symbols in your messages to convey playfulness, humor, etc. - especially when your intuition warns you there is a chance of your posting being misinterpreted.
If you're a film or phorto student, refrain from posting questions if you can get your information from an instructor, a lecturer or a textbook.
Remember that your postings will go to over 1000 people. If your post does not contain info that is relevant to the majority or topic of the list, it may be rejected. make sure you sign all posts with your full name.
Again, please keep your postings short and to the point, respond privately to postings that would not be of interest to all subscribers, and post no advertising or self-promition of services without
permission or direct solicitation. no posting for non-list members is allowed;just have the person join the list, it is open to all. Notices of gallery or other shows are OK for ASMP Members!
No forwards from other lists. please take the time to format anything you think relevant in a new email to the list. ....forwarding messages will result in garbled text ALL SUBJECT lines must detail what the posting is about and be suitable for an archive search in the future Also when posting if you're replying to a digest please change the subject line to the one form the original message. Otherwise how the hell do we know what you're talking about!
Welcome and enjoy the ride! ASMP Board
